Medical Specialist (dermatology) (6/8th Post) (3 Year Contract)

PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION: WESTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
SALARY : Grade 1: R 743 892 per annum, Grade 2: R 850 551 per annum, Grade 3: R 987 102 per annum (A portion of the package can be structured according to candidate to participate in a system of remunerated commuted overtime).
CENTRE : Tygerberg Hospital, Parow Valley

REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Dermatologist.
Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Dermatologist.
Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Dermatology.
Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA or recognised foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a foreign qualified employee as a Medical Specialist in Dermatology.
Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate 110 experience after registration with the HPCSA or recognised foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a foreign qualified employee as a Medical Specialist in Dermatology.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): At least have two publications in peer reviewed journals.
Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching for dermatology students.
Appropriate research and publication experience.

DUTIES :
Out-patient clinic work.
Ward Rounds.
Supervise, teach and train junior personnel, postgraduate students and MMed and Mphil candidates including registrars.
Initiation of research programmes and active participation in research.
Assist in management functions at Departmental and Divisional level.
Perform administrative and medico-legal duties.
